The Prague Summer Program offers a unique opportunity to advanced, intermediate and beginning photographers to apprentice for a month with one of the world’s leading photographic artists. Jan Pohribny’s two courses will be limited to 12 students each, and will not include darkroom instruction; all images will be processed by commercial labs in Prague. Pohribny will focus on creative process, the act of composing and capturing images. Studio visits and some classroom instruction will be provided by renowned Czech photograpers Miro Svolik, Jindrich Streit, and Vaclav Jirasek.

Pohribny’s course for beginning photographers will center on both “classic” and digital imaging. It will be conducted Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. at Charles University’s Jana Palacha building, where all other PSP classes will be conducted.

Pohribny’s course for intermediate and advanced students will be conducted at his studio on the outskirts of Prague, accessible by public transportation. It will center on both classic and digital imaging. Tuesdays and Thursdays, 2 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.

Just out from Merrell Publishers (London/New York) is Magic Stones , Pohribny's picture book devoted to megalithic culture and to sacred places in Europe, the result of a 17-year-long pilgrimage.The book will be published also in Czech by Slovart and in French by Toucan in late October 2007.
